How to store sex toys safely and hygienically
Build a practical storage routine: clean and dry toys, protect surfaces, organise cables and keep manufacturer care instructions easy to find.
Less guesswork. More room for you.
A drawer is a location, not a storage routine
Good storage begins before the toy reaches the drawer. Follow its cleaning instructions, allow it to dry and inspect the surface. Putting an unclean or damp item into an attractive pouch does not finish those steps. The simplest useful system separates ready-to-use toys from anything still waiting for care.
Read the manufacturer's storage guidance for temperature, light, material contact and batteries. Different devices can have different requirements. Do not assume that what suited a previous toy applies to a new model with another coating or charging system.
Let every part dry
Pay attention to joins, removable heads and recesses that may retain moisture. Reassemble only as directed and once the parts are dry. Charging points must be dry before connecting power. Avoid trying to speed things up with a hairdryer, radiator or other heat source unless explicitly allowed.
Choose a clean place where the toy can dry without being handled repeatedly. Once dry, place it in suitable protection from dust. A breathable pouch may suit some toys; a particular case may be specified for others. Follow the object's instructions rather than treating one container as universal.
Protect surfaces from damage and unwanted contact
Do not pile heavy accessories on a delicate attachment or let sharp objects share the same space. Keep toys separate where the manufacturer advises it, especially when materials are different or unclear. The aim is to prevent contact and damage, not to invent a complicated display system.
Check the pouch or case too. It needs to be clean and dry, without loose abrasive debris. If it can be washed, follow its own care label. Replacing a dirty pouch with a closed plastic bag around a damp toy creates a different problem instead of solving the first one.
Keep cables identifiable
Store the correct charging cable where you can recognise it. Similar-looking connectors do not prove that cables are interchangeable. Avoid bending a cable sharply around the toy or putting strain on the connection. Follow the specified charging method and any guidance for longer periods without use.
Use a travel lock if the toy has one and you need it. For battery-powered devices, follow the manual on removing batteries during extended storage. Do not invent a single schedule for every device: battery types and electronics differ.
Make the routine private and practical
Choose a place that protects privacy and keeps adult items away from children and pets. If discretion matters, an opaque container can be useful without making the contents difficult to identify for you. Keep manuals digitally or in a separate envelope so the drawer does not become a pile of anonymous objects.
Group supplies by purpose: toys, their cables and clearly labelled care products. You can review the commercial cleaning and hygiene range at MySexyShop if something specific is missing, but buying an organiser is not a prerequisite. A small, understandable arrangement is often enough.
Check before the next use
Look for damaged surfaces, loose parts, residue or a change you cannot explain. Do not assume that an item is ready simply because you remember cleaning it weeks ago. If you are unsure, repeat the appropriate care process or ask the manufacturer about the change.
When travelling, use protection suited to the toy and recheck the container afterwards. A routine that you can repeat at home and away is more useful than an elaborate system you abandon. Clean, dry, protected and identifiable: those are practical aims, not a requirement for a perfect drawer.
